Summer Classes Start

Below is a summary of the classes grouped by areas of concentration.

More specifics of each class can be found on the class and class description pages for each tier of class (i.e. Explorer, Apprentice and Engineering).

Spring Break and Summer classes have not yet been finalized so the items listed are tentative.

Explorer/Apprentice Camp Requirements

  1. Submit the application.
  2. Parent and student attend a meeting to discuss expectations.
  3. Parent and student attend an in-person orientation to determine interest level and eligibility.

 Selected students will be notified 2 weeks before the class starts.

Engineering Camps Requirements

See Engineering Camp/Club Class Descriptions

  1. Submit the application.
  2. Student writes statement explaining their interest in tech and prior experiences.
  3. Submit a letter of recommendation from a teacher or an advisor who has worked with the student.
  4. Provide a recent report card showing grades in math and science. Provide IEP or other documentation that pertains to behavior or education concerns.
  5. Complete an interview with the Camp Director.
  6. Parent and student attend an in-person orientation to determine interest level and eligibility.

Selected students will be notified 2 weeks before the class starts.

Robotics/Coding/Media Club Requirements

Elementary School (ages 9 - 12) or Middle/High School (ages 13+)

  1. Submit the application.

  2. Student and parent meet wtih Camp Director.

  3. Join the club and build your skills.

  4. Try out for the team.

Complete the form to be considered for a scholarship with BYOC Camps and Clubs

Very Limited Scholarships During the Fall/Winter/Spring Break Classes

Eligibility for a BYOC Scholarship Include:
- Show Financial Need (free/reduced lunch or some other method)
- Actively Participate in at least BYOC Fundraisers volunteering 40 hours.


There is a $25 application fee to apply payable once you submit the application. We will then contact you to begin processing your application.

The Procedure:
- submit the application
- make payment of the $25 application fee (cash app, venmo, paypal, cash)
- we will contact you to discuss and sign up for fundraisers
- you are placed in line for a scholarship after your first time volunteering and you are told your place in line
- we inform you about your award 3 weeks before the summer season begins.


There are partial scholarships and at times full scholarships.
If you are unable to volunteer in some designated capacity, you are not eligible for a scholarship.

Please tell us about any coding, computer science or technology courses you student has taken at your school, online, or through other organizations.
How committed is your student to attending and engaging in BYOC classes
BYOC requires scholarship recipients to volunteer for at least 40 hours across the Fall, Winter and Spring seasons. If not eligible for financial assistance, you can also volunteer to reduce your tuition.
